V-type combined oil seal is a reciprocating seal device specially used in hydraulic cylinders and gas cylinders. It is composed of multiple V-shaped cross-section sealing rings, usually including a support ring, several V-shaped sealing rings, and a pressure ring. This structural design enables it to have excellent adaptability and sealing performance, especially suitable for high pressure, heavy load and frequent working conditions.
Multi-piece construction: Typically consists of a support ring, multiple V-shaped sealing rings, and a pressure ring. The number of sealing rings can be adjusted according to system pressure.
V-shaped sealing lips: Designed with elastic structure that automatically expands under pressure, tightly contacting the shaft or cylinder wall for effective sealing.
Replaceable segments: Each component is independent. If one is damaged, it can be replaced individually, improving maintenance efficiency.
Clear installation direction: Each V-ring lip faces the pressure direction, forming a "pressure-activated" sealing system.
Suitable for high-pressure environments: Can withstand pressures up to 40 MPa (or even higher depending on material and design).
Reliable sealing performance: Maintains a seal even at startup under low or no pressure; does not rely solely on system pressure.
Tighter seal with higher pressure: Sealing rings expand automatically when compressed, enhancing contact and sealing performance.
Excellent wear resistance: Especially when using fabric-reinforced rubber, suitable for high-frequency reciprocating motion.
Good self-adjusting ability: Can adapt to slight eccentricity or wear on the shaft or cylinder bore.
Well-suited for harsh environments: Ideal for industrial settings such as dust, cement, metallurgy, and injection molding.
NBR (Nitrile Rubber): Oil-resistant, good elasticity, general-purpose. Suitable for pressures ≤ 25 MPa.
PU (Polyurethane): High wear resistance, high strength, excellent elasticity. Suitable for pressures ≤ 32 MPa.
Fabric-reinforced NBR: High-pressure resistance, excellent anti-extrusion performance, ideal for heavy-duty applications. Suitable for pressures ≤ 40 MPa.
PTFE (Teflon): Extremely low friction, suitable for high-speed and high-temperature environments. Suitable for pressures ≤ 20 MPa (requires backup ring support).
Install with the open side of the V-rings facing the pressure source.
Select the number of V-rings based on system pressure (higher pressure → more rings).
Lubricate the sealing lips before installation to avoid dry-start wear.
Use in combination with dust seals and buffer seals to extend service life.
Ensure groove dimensions are accurate; too tight or too loose can lead to leakage or premature wear.
Large hydraulic cylinders (for piston or rod sealing)
Injection molding machines, forging presses, stamping machines
Metallurgical and mining equipment
Marine hydraulic systems
Hydraulic control systems in hydropower stations
Strong sealing capability: Handles high pressure, heavy loads, and reciprocating motion.
Adjustable structure: Flexible number of sealing rings to suit various working conditions.
Long service life: Excellent extrusion and wear resistance, easy maintenance.
Self-energizing performance: The higher the pressure, the tighter the seal—minimizing leakage.
Easy to maintain: Damaged segments can be individually replaced, reducing maintenance cost.
